What this is
Inventory keeps an accurate, live picture of what you hold, where it sits, and what it is worth. Open it from Menu > Inventory.
What is inside
- Stock Finder. Look up any item and see Physical, Reserved and Available at a glance.
- Stock Level Alert. Watch items that have dropped below their reorder level.
- Adjustments. Move stock between locations and correct what the system holds.
- BOM Planner and Bill of Materials. Define recipes and build finished items.
- Master Data. Your Stocks (the item catalogue), Groups, Categories and Class.
How it fits together
Stock moves on its own from the documents you already raise: a goods receipt brings it in, a delivery order takes it out, a manufacture order turns components into finished goods. You rarely adjust stock by hand. Inventory just shows the result, and every movement carries a value that posts to Finance.
Good to know. Quantities are sliced two ways at once: by where stock is (Physical on hand plus Incoming on the way) and by whether it is committed (Available, not reserved, plus Reserved). See Understanding stock quantities.
