What this is
Purchase takes you from asking for something to receiving it and paying for it, connected to inventory and finance the whole way. Open it from Menu > Purchase.
The flow
- Requisition. Request what the business needs.
- Quotation Request and Quotation Received. Ask vendors to quote, and record what they send back.
- Purchase Order. Commit to buy from a vendor.
- Goods Receive. Check goods in and inspect them.
- Invoice. Record the vendor bill against the order and receipt, and pay it.
How it fits together
Goods do not enter stock until you accept them, and the vendor bill is matched to what was ordered and received. Every step posts to Finance, so your accounts stay accurate.
Vendors are managed in their own area: Menu > Vendor > Company, not under Purchase.
