What this is
Customer is where every business you sell to lives: who they are, who to contact, what they pay, and how they sit in your accounts. Open it from Menu > Customer.
What is inside
- Company. The customer record itself.
- Person (in charge). The contacts at that customer.
- Category. Optional groupings you define (for example Wholesale or Retail).
- Price List. The prices or discounts a customer gets (see Set up a price list).
How it fits together
A customer you set up here is the one you pick on a quotation or sales order, and its receivable ledger keeps Finance in step. Set a customer up once and every later document reuses it.
Good to know. Customers and vendors are separate. A business you both buy from and sell to is set up in each area, because the accounts behind them differ.
