What this does
Goods Receive checks deliveries in against a purchase order, with an inspection step, so nothing enters stock or your accounts until you accept it.
Before you start
An active purchase order, and the delivery in front of you.
Open Goods Receive
Go to Menu > Purchase > Goods Receive.
Steps
- Click Create. Link the P.Order, enter the vendor D.O number and the Delivery to location.
- The receipt moves through its states: Draft, then Expecting, then Inspecting.
- On Inspecting, check the goods, enter serials where needed, and split or part-receive lines for partial deliveries.
- Use Complete Entry to finish. Only then does stock go up and the value post to your accounts.
Good to know. Financial posting happens only when the receipt is Completed, so a delivery being checked never touches your books early.
